Police Trainer 1 to Lethal Enforcers
A question we hear a lot is “what shooting game PCB boards can work in other cabinets”. Specifically we have seen a lot of people asking about Police Trainer 1 made by P&P Marketing.
There are a lot of forums threads all over of people guessing at what PCBs work in other cabinets but, today we had a chance to use a Konami Lethal Enforcers cabinet and test out a Police Trainer 1 PCB in it. The quick answer is yes, they are compatible. But you need to do some very basic and simple things to make them both work.
First things first, the Lethal Enforcers cabinet is a mirror setup. with the monitor laying flat and an angled mirror showing the image. This means the display image on the monitor it self needs to be reversed. Luckily on the Police trainer board, if you push DIP switch 8 to “ON” it will flip and revers the image. Problem one solved.
Secondly, the wiring harness for the guns going into the Lethal Enforcers PCB has a different connector but, the pinout appears to be the same. Now, if you have HAPP .45 Cal guns, there is an adaptor already in the cabinet that changes it to the Lethal Enforcers input. so weather you have the original revolver guns or HAPP .45 Cal guns, you will still need to make a pigtail adaptor. This is not as hard as it may sound. Simply get some wiring and crimp the right end connector. Then leave the new pigtail wiring in your cabinet and just swap them when you swap your game PCB.
Thirdly, the Lethal Enforcers cabinet, which is JAMMA. Only has pins and wires for what Lethal Enforcers needs. NOT a full JAMMA setup. This means the audio pins will not be there for your Police Trainer 1 PCB. Here you have two options. 1) you can add wiring/pins to your JAMMA connector for audio. OR. 2) You can tap into the Police Trainer 1 PCB through the alternate output which is clearly marked on the board. Then all you have to do is tap those wires into the speaker wires & you have audio. Since you won’t have both boards plugged in at the same time. There isn’t a reason for any blocking diodes on the audio line.
Pretty much after those three steps, you will be set to play both games in your Lethal Enforcers Cabinet!
